Inter Milan need a total of fifteen more points to mathematically clinch the Serie A title this season.
This is highlighted by today’s print edition of the Roman newspaper Corriere dello Sport, FCInterNews. The newspaper notes that the Nerazzurri could very well win the name in the derby against AC Milan.
With ten games remaining in Serie A this season, Inter have extended their lead to 16 places at the top.
Juventus are no longer the closest to the Nerazzurri. The Bianconeri’s draw against Atalanta left them seventeen points behind.
AC Milan are the closest team to Inter after their win yesterday against Empoli.
Inter have 75 problems and Milan 59. Therefore, with thirty problems up for grabs in the race, the highest number of problems the Rossoneri are likely to end the season with is 89.
That means, of course, that 90 copies would be enough for Inter.
This means that, in theory, the Nerazzurri can lose precisely part of the issues they will have to offer for the rest of the season and be mathematically sure of winning the title.
Of course, Inter may not need to do the bare minimum to win the title.
The Nerazzurri will be keen to win the title with an impressive number of points and a margin of victory.
In theory, Inter are fine to end the season with a hundred problems or more. And at least, close.
Inter’s next 4 matches will see Napoli, Empoli, Udinese and Cagliari.
Of course, winning those four games in a row will be very difficult, but the Nerazzurri have already won 13 out of 13 since the start of 2024, so they probably don’t see it out of the question.
And if Inter can get twelve points from those games, it would take them into the derby against Milan next month with a tantalising prospect ahead of them.
In that case, the Nerazzurri could ensure they get their hands on the name of their city rivals with a win.
