Inter Milan signs contract with Alexis Sanchez

GELSENKIRCHEN, Germany (AP) – Inter Milan will turn Alexis Sanchez’s transfer to Manchester United into a permanent deal, United coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer said Wednesday.

When asked about reports that Sanchez would be a permanent Inter player, Solskjaer told the British channel BT Sport: “I can verify that. Alexis had a good time there, a smart player, so we wish him all the best.”

The 31-year-old Chilean striker has been on loan at Inter since August after suffering to play for United. Sanchez struggled to live up to expectations after joining Arsenal United in 2018 and scored five goals in forty-five games.

At Inter, he has been a regular starter since the resumption of Serie A in June amid the coronavirus pandemic and has 4 targets in 30 appearances in all competitions this season.

Sanchez played 20 minutes as a replacement on Wednesday when Inter beat Getafe 2-0 in the Europa League 16. United beat LASK Linz 7-1 at the same time.
