Inter Milan have presented Sampdoria goalkeeper Emil Audero as an imaginable replacement for Samir Handanovic in goal.
This is according to today’s print edition of Turin’s Tuttosport newspaper, FCInterNews, which reports that the Nerazzurri are interested in signing the 26-year-old, with Blucerchiati quoting him between 8 and 10 million euros.
Sampdoria suffered relegation to Serie B after a debacle in the 2022–23 season.
That will mean that the Ligurian club will have to sell a certain number of players. Audero is a player who is most likely on the way.
The Italian foreigner has shown himself at the level of Serie A. Audero is not to blame for Blucerchiati’s relegation and already has suitors within Serie A.
According to Tuttosport, Inter are among those who love the 26-year-old.
Nerazzurri captain Samir Handanovic is in a position to say goodbye after a decade at the club. Therefore, the Nerazzurri will have to sign a new goalkeeper capable of playing the role of substitute.
Tuttosport reports that Audero is one of the names on their list.
However, the Nerazzurri are the only team that loves the 26-year-old. According to Tuttosport, Lazio is also an admirer.
In addition, Cagliari is also Sampdoria’s goalkeeper. The Rossoblu have risen to the elite and intend to make a reinforcement of goalkeepers.
Sampdoria are asking between 8 and 10 million euros for Audero. However, Tuttosport reports, Inter hope to reduce the payment of money by providing some young players to go through the other side as part of the deal.
Meanwhile, Tuttosport also confirms that Inter are reaching an agreement with young Danish goalkeeper Theo Sander.
The 18-year-old will pay around 2 million euros to sign for his current club Aalborg and is seen as a prospect for the future.
