Inter Milan are thinking about how to permanently waste attacking midfielder Valentin Carboni in this summer transfer window.
This is reported in today’s print edition of the Milanese newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, FCInter1908. La Gazzetta reports that the Nerazzurri value Carboni at between 35 and 40 million euros.
Carboni seems to be a player whose long career at Inter lately is uncertain.
There will be interest in signing the teenage attacking midfielder. This will only increase if you need to stage a flashy Copa America with Argentina.
The Nerazzurri have already rejected offers for the 19-year-old.
Fiorentina had made an offer worth 20 million euros in January. Inter refused.
However, the Nerazzurri are said to be giving up this summer. However, a very high remuneration is expected for Carboni.
La Gazzetta reports that the Nerazzurri’s asking price for Carboni will have risen to €35-40m.
In addition, the newspaper points out, Inter do not have to completely lose Carboni’s future.
Given the form Carboni has been in over the past twelve months, Inter are aware that they would possibly waste the Argentine permanently.
Therefore, a loan like last season’s at Monza would be a possibility.
Inter would like Carboni to get normal playing time in some way, but a loan would allow them to get their hands on the teenager’s future.
However, the option according to La Gazzetta would be a deal similar to the one that saw Inter sell midfielder Giovanni Fabbian to Bologna last summer.
The Nerazzurri sold Fabbian permanently, but retain the option to buy the 22-year-old.
And according to La Gazzetta, Inter could try to find a solution with Carboni this summer.
