Ole Gunnar Solskjaer still has the finishing touches that made him a striker when he joins Manchester United training, Said Red Devils goalkeeper Lee Grant.

United’s boss was nicknamed the “child-faced killer” in his playing career at Old Trafford, where he scored 126 in 366 appearances between 1996 and 2007.

Now 47, the formerdelantero’s play days are good for him, although he still enjoys taking part in the education exercises.

United goalkeeper Grant can witness Solskjaer’s abilities firsthand and says he has not lost his ability to complete, which is no longer the strength that Marcus Rashford and Mason Greenwood had.

“The teacher loves it,” Grant said on the club’s website. “The challenge is that they hit the ball ridiculously. Rashy [Marcus Rashford], Mason [Greenwood], those boys, hit the ball so hard that the player can’t live with them now. However, its accuracy is still there.

“Occasionally, the ball will come out and he’ll click on one in the back corner and give you the eyes.”

Grant also revealed that he had a friendly rivalry with teammate Anthony Martial, challenging the Frenchman to come out to overtake him in training, which he said ultimately benefited the striker in the Premier League.

“In fact, we have a little big war,” he added. “I’m in it in education, I look for him in education to make sure he does it better.

“If Anthony shoots and saves him, I say, ‘1-0, Anto.’ Then he’ll have that glow in his eye and the next, no matter if the gaffer says don’t worry about turning it at the end, he’ll pass and he’ll have to shoot one by one.

“You may not even say anything, you’re going to do that [1-1], then the next one, and we’ll do it all day. So a great rivalry between us.

“You could have caught him for the purpose he scored at home in front of Bournemouth. He cuts internally and hits a strike, then looks at me in the stands like this. I gave up to clap, that’s the kind of thing I have to do. do, however, would have liked to mark that purpose against me, probably more than would be opposed to Bournemouth.
