Michael Brown believes there will be some high-profile outings for Celtic after his exit from the Champions League.
Speaking exclusively to Russell Edge, assistant editor of Football Insider, Brown delivered his verdict when Celtic failed to succeed in the champions League organizing stages for the third consecutive season.
The Hoops lost their 2–1 qualifying moment to Hungarian champion Ferencvaros on Wednesday night.
Boss Neil Lennon told his players after the game: “Have a smart mindset, a smart attitude. If some of you don’t need to be here, leave.”
When asked if he thought the players didn’t need to be at the club, he said, “In some cases.”
This site revealed that defender Kristoffer Ajer is one of the Celtic stars to which Lennon refers.
Ajer, 22, has attracted interest from the Premier League and Italian clubs, who have calmed down after Celtic put 20 million pounds on the defender.
The club runs for Ben Davies, 25, of Preston North End, who has only one year left on his contract, if Ajer leaves, as revealed through Football Insider.
When asked through Football Insider what he did with Lennon’s comments after the match, Brown said, “It’s not just a statement, it’s a fact.
“When you’ve been playing in a club for so long and need to move and do something, you expect it.
“You look at the players who have recently left and are playing in the Premier League and they are doing it very, very week after week.
“Lennon has to settle for what they need to move to the Premier League or other major leagues, unfortunately.
“And it probably wouldn’t help if they weren’t in the Champions League.”
In other Celtic news, a wonderful expert was left through a resolution through Lennon who would let him hang out.
