Danny Mills believes Timo Werner’s move to Chelsea means Tammy Abraham’s position is under threat.

Speaking to Football Insider correspondent Dylan Childs, Mills believes the two forwards can thrive alongside Frank Lampard.

“If Abraham does, then, if you’re smart enough, you play. If you do business, stay on the team and play, it’s as undeniable as that.”

“Coaches have other criticisms about other players, but if Abraham scores goals, he will play. It doesn’t matter who you are.”

After receiving a loan at the Aston Villa, Abraham benefited from Lampard’s religion in youth last season.

Along with Fikayo Tomori, Mason Mount and Reece James, Abraham enjoyed a campaign.

Lampard’s religion in young people is a necessity, as Chelsea went through a ban on movements in his first season ahead.

Despite the ban that ended in January, Werner only signed the moment after the ban. Ajax’s Hakim Ziyech signed a five-year contract in February.
