The Croatian midfielder has signed a four-year contract with Julen Lopetegui’s team.
The Barca will get 1.5 million euros in advance for the player, with up to nine million euros more per functionality variables.
The new Barca coach, Ronald Koeman, has made it clear to Rakitic, who made 42 appearances in all competitions last season, which will be in his plans for 2020-21.
Negotiations intensified on Monday, with Rakitic undergoing a medical examination after a fee agreed between the clubs.
Rakitic, a fan favorite in Seville and led them to the glory of the Europa League in 2013-14 before signing for Barcelona.
His first season at the club was a resounding success, with the Catalans winning the hat-trick with Luis Enrique, with Rakitic scoring the first goal of the Champions League 3-1 over Juventus.
In total, Rakitic has won thirteen trophies with Barca, adding 4 La Liga titles and 4 Copa del Rey, and, according to reports, is the subject of a 90 million euro offer from Paris Saint-Germain in 2018.

The 32-year-old has become the target of complaints from a componenticular segment of the fan base as the effects and performances began to fall into the last component of Ernesto Valverde’s mandate.
Rakitic has argued that he does not need to leave the club despite the hypothesis that Barca was looking to get rid of him, perhaps as part of a compositional redemption delivery by Neymar or Lautaro Martínez, and his frustrations overflowed in April when he told Mundo Deportivo: “I perceive the stage but I am not a sack of potatoes to do what you need”.
Rakitic’s wife, Raquel Mauri, and his circle of relatives are Andalusian and the player has admitted in the past that he would like to return to domination and play for Sevilla once his stay at Barca is over.
In December last year, he told El Desmarque: “If the time had come, we all know that I would be very happy to continue on this path, because I said that if I went back to one of my previous clubs, it would be Seville.
“I’m happy to see the team do so well and it seems to be getting better every year and that’s all I like.My dream would be to wear the Sevilla shirt again at some point in the future.”
