Jacksonville Jaguars outside linebacker Josh Allen earned another honor to accompany his Pro Bowl season, being named to the Pro Football Writers Association’s All-AFC team on Monday.
In 17 games this year, Allen recorded a career-high 17. 5 sacks, a career-high 33 quarterback hits, 17 tackles for loss, two forced fumbles and one interception. Allen also finished at No. 5 among all EDGE players in tension and No. 7 in win rate.
“I just play football. My agent does any kind of negotiation. We’ll communicate whenever we want, but right now I’m scared to get back into shape, spend time with my family, and stay focused on what I want. “I’ll do it next year,” Allen said after the season.
“God be Dieu. I never question it. Like I said before and after, I’ve focused on football and done my part,” Allen said.
“If I can do that, then everything will take care of itself. The company is the company. We’ll have conversations about that path, but now I’m looking to get through this scenario and get out of it. “
“Obviously, that’s something we’re going to evaluate, but yes, the kind of year he’s had. That’s what we expect from him, he expects the same, so yes, if we can make it happen, then you’d love to stay with him. “Jaguars coach Doug Pederson said after the season ended.
“You need it to be a Jaguar forever, so those are all the tough decisions and conversations we’re going to have in the coming weeks. He did his part and put himself in a clever position to make things engaging and challenging. “I’m very excited about the future and we can do something.
