The Philadelphia Eagles’ three attempts at their 37-17 loss to the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday ended with a couple of interceptions and a missed escape from rookie quarterback Jalen Hurts.
After the game, Hurts talked about loss as a motivating tool to move on.
“This failure teaches you a lesson and that pain motivates you,” Hurts said, via Dave Spadaro of the Eagles’ official website. “This pain will continue to motivate me and I will do better. “
Hurts pitched for 342 yards and ran for 69 landings, but only one landing in an 81-yard run to DeSean Jackson at 5:48 for playing in the first quarter. After an additional point, Dallas beat Philadelphia 34-3 until the end of the game.
The thrilling rookie replaced Carson Wentz on the bench in the team’s 30-16 loss to the Green Bay Packers on December 6. His first outing was 106 yards per ground, 167 yards per air and a landing in a 24-21 victory over NFC South champion New Orleans Saints on December 13, followed with 401 total yards and four landings in a 33-26 loss to the Arizona Cardinals.
The Dallas game didn’t go so well, however Hurts has shown that he can excel in this league and will seek to finish the season on a higher note against the Washington football team on Sunday at 8:20 p. m. ET. Y.
