The 23-year-old is keen to move to Manchester United this summer, but the former Norwich player has now committed his long term to Fox by signing a new contract.
The England foreigner was injured at the Leicester assembly when Brendan Rodgers’ appearance disappeared from the Champions League posts and will now play in the Europa League next season.
Maddison still believes that the club made wonderful strides last season just to compete for a place in the Champions League, and he’s pleased to make it bigger in Leicester.
“I am very pleased to sign a new contract for this football club,” Maddison told the Leicester website. “It’s an incredibly exciting time to be a Leicester City player with so many positives on and off the pitch and I’m very happy to be a part of it. What you completed as a club this season is a huge step forward for us and I know that there is much more to come from this team.
“I have enjoyed every moment since I arrived in Leicester City. The fans have been incredible for me and we have a fantastic group of players in this dressing room who are determined to show what we can do together in Europe and in the Premier League next season. “
Maddison scored 16 goals in 76 games for Leicester and has become a point man in camp, alongside Jamie Vardy, and his absence from the house is a great explanation for their struggles.
The former Coventry Academy graduate made his England debut in November when he qualified for Euro 2020 against Montenegro, and is still expected to be part of Gareth Southgate’s squad for next summer’s renewed tournament.
