Southampton captain James Ward-Prowse has signed a new five-year contract.
The 25-year-old midfielder has entrusted his long journey to Saints until the summer of 2025.
Ward-Prowse said: “Everyone knows this is a club that is close to my heart.
“I started here when I was 8 years old and I just had the intention of signing for the first team, and my appreciation for the club is very great, because the rest of the people inside and the infrastructure have allowed me to achieve my dream. He was a boy looking to play professional soccer.
“They gave me each and every opportunity and every spice on the way to achieving this purpose and for me again, it’s another opportunity to return that religion to everyone who has played a role in my adventure.away.”
Ward-Prowse made his Southampton debut in October 2011 and made 278 appearances, scoring 24 goals.
He won two matches with England, Germany in 2017 and Montenegro last year.
Saints coach Ralph Hasenhuttl said: “Prowsey is a player who is all that is Southampton Football Club.
“He’s got a hobthrough for the club that everyone knows, and he’s all through here.
“I know it’s a role-playing style for our young players in particular, and those are all the reasons why it was the right selection to be a long-term captain of this team and this club.
