The rumour in late August that Jason Peters was looking for more cash from the Eagles if he sought to replace the injured Andre Dillard and either party drafted a revised agreement for his services.
The Eagles announced the deal on Thursday morning. Peters’ agent Vincent Taylor told reporters that his client’s case was now worth up to $8 million. He originally signed a one-year, $3 million contract to enroll in the team to upgrade Brandon Brooks on the right guard.
The agreement revised a signing bonus of $2 million and $4 million in guaranteed cash.
The Eagles have thought of other traits to upgrade Dillard, but head coach Doug Pederson announced this week that Peters would return to his familiar position. Matt Pryor would start with the smart guard.
