Jeremy Banks is back on the Tennessee team, flight coach Jeremy Pruitt announced Monday after the team’s first pre-season training day.
The return of the banks puts an end to a 10-month separation. He ruled out in October after two incidents, adding an arrest in September.
“Jeremy has done a task over the past nine months,” Pruitt said at a Zoom press conference. “He was an inspiration to me. (These) 10 or 20 minutes last year, he would love to come back. We took him off the football team. He didn’t need to leave. He said, ‘Coach, I came here to Tennessee to graduate and I embarrassed myself and my family. The only way to get it back is to stay here, and that’s anything I’d like to do.
“We have a plan in place. He followed everything we asked him to do. I’m proud of him, where he is. Array… We’re very happy that he’s back and we can’t wait for him to have a moment.” opportunity.”
Pruitt drew up the banks’ plan to regain their position on the Flights. Banks remained registered in Tennessee after his dismissal and posted his fall semesters on Twitter in December.
“I can tell you this: Jeremy has worked tirelessly to get back on this football team,” Pruitt said. “There were many others in the Knoxville domain who contributed to it. Jeremy learned a valuable lesson. You have the opportunity to replay football and continue your studies.
Banks was arrested in September after a traffic impediment revealed a noticeable traffic order for not appearing in court on a July misdemeanor contribution for driving while his license was suspended.
A police video released in October showed him as proephumphumles opposed to University of Tennessee officials and making provocative comments to police after his arrest on September 15.
The video also revealed that the university’s student justice formula had ordered Banks to have no contact with a contact in an unrelated incident, according to the audio of the dispatcher captured in the video of his arrest.
A woman told TMZ Sports that Banks threatened her and argued with the outdoor security guards at a party on August 24. Police responded to the incident, but Banks was not arrested, according to TMZ Sports’ report. The woman told TMZ Sports that Banks had been harassing her for months. The online page reported that it was this scenario that led to the restraining order.
Pruitt condemned Banks’ behavior towards the police after the video was released, but allowed Banks to exercise the next day. He also did not suspend Banks after his arrest on September 15. After the release of the police video, Pruitt swore banks would face internal discipline. He didn’t specify what it would include.

“This resolution is in the most productive interest of the football program and the university,” Pruitt said in his rejection of Banks.
Pruitt became engaged to Banks in the “next stages of his life” after his dismissal.
Following the release of the video of Banks’ arrest, more than 75 people sent emails to school principals with complaints, adding threats to boycott football games or withdraw donations. Many others who emailed Chancellor Where Plowman and acting UT system president Randy Boyd said they were existing and former law enforcement officials who had been angry about Banks and Pruitt’s interactions with UT police after Banks’ arrest.
Banks spent most of his freshman season as a ball carrier, but switched to an in-house supporter to the intensity of flights in that position. It oscillated again between the two positions at the time of the year.
Banks, a Cordova High School graduate, played reserve games before his dismissal. He made seven tackles in 2019 and had two interceptions in the Vols’ 45-0 win over Chattanooga.
Pruitt Banks had “a lot to catch up” to get back on flights.
“I’m so glad you’ve put yours in a position to have the opportunity to do so,” Pruitt said.
