Rangers Jermain Defoe have revealed that he is passing on to him on the dating site Tinder.
The 38-year-old man issued a social media warning on Friday and contacted the Ibrox club and police after the imposter shared images and was claimed by england’s former international.
Defoe temporarily acted to alert his 519,000 Instagram fans that he was not in love with the popular app, as he suggested everyone involved forget the messages.
He said, “Hi, guys, there’s a fake account on Tinder looking to impersonte me.
“Just to let you know that the club and the police are on this case.
“If you have been contacted through this account, forget and report it. “
Defoe is in the process of regaining his full fitness and remains a key member of Steven Gerrard’s team, as rangers aim to end Celtic’s national dominance and deny them ten in a row.
On Friday, the giants of Ibrox faced Benfica, Standard Liége and Lech Poznan in the Europa League Group Stage draw following their win over Galatasaray on Thursday night.
