Joao Felix, on loan from Chelsea, has made it clear that he would like to stay at the club beyond this summer as he firmly puts the ball in Mauricio Pochettino’s court for a permanent loan. The Atletico Madrid striker has had a spell of squads in West London after his loan spell in January, having discovered just 3 times in 14 Premier League appearances.
Although he lost his place in Chelsea’s caretaker boss, Frank Lampard, Felix had already been one of the few bright sparks in the final weeks of Graham Potter’s tenure.
But now there are doubts about whether Chelsea would be willing to pay the kind of cash Atletico would want to sanction a permanent sale.
It has been reported in the Spanish press that Atletico need £88m to offload Felix to Chelsea, meaning the Blues will have to decide if this move makes sense for them.
Speaking of his long career, the player himself made it clear that he would be willing to make the change permanent, saying: “I still don’t know about my long career. It’s 4 or five months away and I love it. “

“It’s a very sensible club, everyone at the club has been very smart to me.
“My teammates were amazing and I enjoy being here. “
There have already been reports suggesting Pochettino would like to remain Felix.
However, given its existing assessment, one would expect it to occupy a significant percentage of Chelsea’s movement budget.

The Blues will strive to get rid of players this summer in order to increase the spending budget.
Pochettino will also have to do it if he needs to prioritise a signing like Felix or if he needs to go big with a new number 9.
It has been speculated that he would possibly be offering Romelu Lukaku the possibility of buying next season after his loan with Inter Milan.
However, Chelsea have also connected with giant sums of cash for Harry Kane, Victor Osimhen and Lautaro Martinez, who can take their attack to a new level.
Another that has to be connected to the equation is that Christopher Nkunku will arrive this summer from RB Leipzig.
Chelsea already secured a contract with the Frenchman, who has 14 Bundesliga targets this season, last December.
Christian Pulisic, Hakim Ziyech and Callum Hudson-Odoi are expected to leave at the end of the season to make room in Chelsea’s attack.
Although Felix has made it clear that he needs Chelsea, there is any and all chance that other clubs will also enter the race for his signing.
