Celtic goalkeeper Joe Hart admitted he was unaware of the fans’ protests against the board.
Traveling Celtic supporters downloaded a pre-match banner in which Pittodrie warned the Hoops hierarchy to “leave it in your head” after a dull January movement window, which saw just two players signed. Brendan Rodgers felt the club’s recruitment could have been “braver. ” However, he suggested punters blame anyone.
But those pleas fell on deaf ears as the message to the Parkhead powerbrokers was loud and clear. And the frustrations were extended to matters on the park as a. 1-1 draw in the Granite City allowed Rangers to cut the gap at the top of the table in the Premiership title race to just three points with a game in hand. While he could hardly claim not to have noticed, Hart insisted the banner didn’t cause he and his teammates to take their eye of the ball. He said: “It’s not a distraction for the players, not at all. We see it, there’s no getting away from it, it was a decent-sized banner.
“But that’s for the support and that’s what they need to work out. As players we stay focused and the management team and staff have a job to do. And we’re fully focused on that.
“Ideally we win that game 4-0 and everybody’s smiling and everybody’s happy. But it doesn’t work like that.
“Aberdeen had a lot to prove today and a lot to work on after losing their manager recently. It was always going to be a tough game. But the support is there for us.
“They are everywhere, like in Europe and all over the world. We feel it and appreciate it and put our center and soul on the field.
