Jordan Reed will have the opportunity to resume his career as a player with the 49ers.
The 49ers signed a one-year contract with Reed on Monday in the hope that it will be a productive addition to the offensive. For this to happen, Reed will have to stay healthy and this has been the biggest stumbling of his career.
Reed missed all last season due to concussions and missed 31 games in his first six seasons. The story leaves the 49ers with the threat of not receiving anything from Reed, but general manager John Lynch said it was a bet the 49ers were willing to accept.
“There’s some threat-reward,” Lynch said, up to 95.7 The Game. “We have reached a point where we feel that the threat we are assuming is valued with the possible reward.”
Head coach Kyle Shanahan said it will “be a great deal for the Niners” if Reed stays in the lineup, which is hard to talk about and difficult to accept as the highest probability situation in Santa Clara.
Reed has had too many severe concussions to even be on the field. No guilty team put him there. Bad movement of the Niners.
Looks like he got the ability to get caught with violent tackles in the head. young smart luck
