Julian Nagelsmann and RB Leipzig have surprised Atletico Madrid from Diego Simeone in the Champions League by winning in the semi-finals for the first time.
Tyler Adam’s 88th-minute goal gave the Germans a 2–1 lead over Simeone’s team, which has reached the top twice in the last six years.
Leipzig, founded just 11 years ago, will now face PSG in the semi-finals next Tuesday. This is an achievement for the club, but basically for his coach, who was only 33 in July and was born a few months before Simeone made his professional career in 1987.

Four years ago, Julian Nagelsmann trained the Hoffenheim U-19. He has now taken RB Leipzig to the semi-finals of the Champions League, striker Diego Simeone. Tactically intelligent, daring, it defines intelligent humor and smart rhythm among your players. And he’s only 33. #RBLATL
Julian Nagelsmann. He is only 33 years old and took a team to the champions league semi-finals. And RB Leipzig had to do it tonight against Atletico without previous striker Timo Werner. Some will leave
Julian Nagelsmann is the youngest coach to coach a team in the Champions League semi-finals. The legend continues! Possibility of 3 German apprentices in the semi-finals.

Nagelsmann knocks out Mourinho and Simeone. Anti-football: heart_eyes:
Possibly losing their player and the most sensible goalscorer, but reconfiguring the team in a few weeks to properly take them to the champions of the Champions League, is a phenomenal training feat.
You may notice the lack of enthusiasm for the RB-PSG. Still a little bit for me, that in 2007 Thomas Tuchel trained Julian Nagelsmann, 20, at the time of the Augsburg team. Nagelsmann then worked as a headhunter for him. And now they’re measured in champions League semi-finals. https://t.co/4DOjk8ul26
Julian Nagelsmann, German coach of RB Leipzig, 33. He doesn’t get enough mention and credit. What a success! : applaud: #HeinekenFOTM #UCL pic.twitter.com/J2HAFT4xO7
A cautious first half ended 0-0, but a brilliant header from Daniel Olmo broke the impasse for the Bundesliga team after an impressive team play in the 50th minute.
Joao Felix was fouled in the box and the substitute got up off the floor to equalise from the spot on 71 minutes, before Adams goal just before injury time settled it.
Leipzig was only created in 2009 and played his first Bundesliga season in 2016/17. This season is only his moment in the Champions League, and the first to succeed in the organizational stages.
They ruled an organization that included Lyon, Benfica and Zenit St. Petersburg, then eliminated Jose Mourinho’s Spurs 4-0 overall in the eighth round.
Their victory over Atleti set a massive semi-final opposed to PSG, as both groups try to qualify for the last of the festival for the first time.
The German does all that Timo Werner, who moved to Chelsea, makes his thursday night feat even more incredible.
Who will pass, Leipzig or PSG? Let us know what’s in the comments.
