One thing Jurgen Klopp has done exceptionally well this season is the way he has brought the club’s young players into the first team. The Liverpool manager has been active in this area. But this season in particular, he has taken Liverpool to another level. .
A slew of the club’s stars turned heads during the campaign. Players like Jarell Quansah and Conor Bradley are now likely to be considered first-team players as well, as they have been impressive under the Liverpool manager.
But it’s not just two out of two. Others have inspired in batches, including Owen Beck, who has had an attractive season so far. Being loaned to Dundee FC, returning to Liverpool and then being loaned back to Dundee.
Speaking in his press-conference yesterday, Klopp admitted he was surprised to see Beck struggle for game time while out on loan in the past.
“Owen as well, like Calvin, had previously a difficult loan spell,” Klopp said as per the club’s official website.
“He didn’t play in Portugal, he came back here and he also played in Bolton [as Bradley] and he didn’t play there either, so we all wondered, ‘How can this happen?’Because we have a lot of respect for him. . . So he went to Scotland, played there and that gave him a big boost. He arrived here and looked like a man, a left-back, fit to go. And now the other guys are coming back. We have the opportunity to give him that time [on loan] again, it makes sense.
Beck is evidently still very popular at the club. He is now back in Dundee, where he is thriving again. On his return to the club, he made a hand against Aberdeen, which is exactly what you would expect from the 21-year-old.
