Merseyside signed a 20 million pound contract with Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga on Friday after months of scenario linking the Spanish midfielder to a signing for Anfield.
Thiago has signed a long-term contract with Liverpool FC to finish his seven years at Bayern Munich and start a new Challenge in the Premier League with Klopp.
The 29-year-old will have to compete with Jordan Henderson, Fabinho, Naby Keita, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Georginio Wijnaldum for one place.
The Champions League winner hopes to make his Reds debut at the top of the table with Chelsea FC at Stamford Bridge on Sunday afternoon.
Speaking to Liverpool FC about Thiago’s transfer to Anfield and whether the new signing can file an opposition to Chelsea FC this weekend, Klopp said:
“We’ll see. I wasn’t on the team by Sunday. We’ll see what we can do.
“I haven’t met him now, we’ve only had phone calls and exchanged messages. So let’s see how it feels. With a move like this, the days are busy with things you don’t usually do. “
“If it looks good, we’re going to locate the right position for him. “
Thiago won the hat-trick for Bayern Munich in his final season at the Allianz Arena after german club won the Bundesliga, The German Cup and the Champions League.
The Spanish midfielder has won seven consecutive titles in his career at Bayern Munich, but Thiago had to wait until 2020 to win the Champions League trophy at the German club.
Liverpool FC beat Leeds United 4-3 at Anfield last weekend after Mohamed Salah scored a hat-trick in the first Premier League match.
The Reds will face Arsenal in their last Premier League game in September.
