Jurgen Klopp hilarious ‘Star Trek’ frontman of Liverpool’s first match

When he arrived, Anfield’s club in crisis. Brendan Rodgers fired after the Reds finished sixth in 2014/15, far from their star name rate last season, which unfortunately mercilessly through Steven Gerrard’s slip opposed to Chelsea.

A new feature-length documentary, The End of the Storm, refers to Klopp’s time at the head of the Reds and tells the story of the 2019/20 Premier League victory after the drought.

The film’s very good access to the club provides an incredible insight into the temperament of this exciting and frustrating campaign. Stars like Sadio Mane and Captain Jordan Henderson are opening up about the joy and pain of a year affected by COVID-19, and the great club Kenny Dalglish is also speaking frankly.

But perhaps the biggest draw of all is where it all started: Klopp’s first game at the helm of the club.

The German brain first revealed how he knew the club had to make significant adjustments even before he kicked a ball.

It’s not the lineup of the game, the behind-the-scenes staff, or any of the same old spaces to deal with, it’s the design of the bright red T-shirts that reminds you of Star Trek!

Klopp told the documentary: “My first game in Tottenham, I saw the other team warm up. Tottenham, they are beautiful, dark blue (swimsuits), Harry Kane, Dele Alli – everything turns out ready.

“I around and wow, we all look like Captain Picard!

“Bad sizes didn’t fit players. I wasn’t happy. I imagine how you can be, while the game hasn’t even (yet) started, is it the best time yet?”

“So the next day I asked for a meeting. I said, “Come on, what can we replace right away?” I think this kind of thing is important.

It’s a desirable idea of the coach’s mental state, and that’s a little off the logo given that he’s better known for his emotional antics and hugs than for his making blouse sizes.

“I’m not a freak. I just think it deserves to be done expressly.

This “specific form” has noticed the Reds almost renewed. Just check out the team for Klopp’s first game on October 17, 2015 at Tottenham’s former home, White Hart Lane.

Simon Mignolet in goal. Nathaniel Clyne, Martin Skrtel, Mamadou Sakho and Alberto Moreno were the defenders.

Lucas Leiva, Emre Can and Brazilian magician Philippe Coutinho included a three-man midfielder with Adam Lallana, Divock Origi and the flexible James Milner in attack.

It’s almost unrecognizable for Liverpool today or for which he won the Premier League last season.

Origi and Milner are the two players left in Liverpool’s books.

A glance at the bench for this setting shows that the intensity is fine, to say the least: Adam Bogdan, Kolo Touré, Joe Allen, Jerome Sinclair, Joao Carlos Texiera and Connor Randall.

The game ended 0-0, not a bad effort as the Spurs would continue to enjoy a strong campaign.

Klopp said: “We had problems. We had to figure them out. I needed help, of course. We had to locate defenders, strikers, midfielders. “

Cash flowed from FSG owners. Transfer records have been damaged, although, as often, discount purchases have high-profile stars under Klopp’s tutelage. These days, few stars from rival groups could too easily enter Liverpool’s first XI. It not only has “good” defenders, but forwards, and midfielders: it has world-class stars throughout the park.

That’s been a lot since 2015.

As Klopp said in his first interview after signing for the Reds: “The story is great, but you have to remember. Now we have the opportunity to write a new story. “

It’s an amazing story, and The End of the Storm tells it wonderfully.

The documentary is screened in some theaters this weekend. Watch the trailer HERE
