Liverpool Jurgen Klopp praised Billy Koumetio on the club’s official website.
Klopp was pleased with Koumetio’s functionality in Liverpool’s 7–2 win over Blackpool in his last pre-season friendly of the summer on Saturday.
The 17-year-old central defender was guilty of Blackpool’s first goal, when CJ Hamilton walked away and escaped to pass the ball past goalkeeper Alisson.
The teenager behaved relatively well as the game progressed, infrequently seemed nervous.
It is the young man’s first start for Liverpool, and he replaced at half-time via Klopp.
Liverpool opined on Koumetio’s performance, and hailed him as a “great talent”.
Klopp told Liverpool’s official online website when asked if Koumetio would be informed of the match: “Absolutely.We had some disorders in the first part. [The first goal] a ball pressed against a very experienced player, which more powerful at the time.Billy played some wonderful balls, some wonderful passes and he played there.
“Our last line was played [for] the first time in a combination like this, everything is fine, but we weren’t up enough.There were a lot of conditions where I think it had to be offside, but it wasn’t.For some explanation why at least it wasn’t offside because we weren’t online.
“All those things, little things to learn, but 17 years, all life ahead of him, which is good.It’s a wonderful skill and, as I said, he had some very, very intelligent situations, even in this press ball, it wasn’t so nice.
One for the future
Koumetio is 17 years old and will have plenty of time to bet on Liverpool this season.
However, there is no doubt that the plant is very and will have its possibility in the coming years.
For now, the French teenager wants to paint hard in education and progress to the young people’s point before progressing to the senior point.
