A win at Anfield extended Liverpool’s winning streak to five games
Urgen Klopp says Alisson is “on the verge of tears” after Liverpool were left with an occasional blank sheet against Fulham.
The Reds have secured five straight wins with a 1-0 win at Anfield, with Mohamed Salah scoring on the spot in the first half as he was given in the minutes for an eighth consecutive home game in all competitions.
That moves Liverpool from four points behind Manchester United to fourth place, but Erik ten Hag’s side are two games behind and the Reds probably have a lot to do in their bid for Champions League football next season.
However, they are in season form and have kept their first sheet blank in over a month, having conceded seven goals in their last 4 wins.
“Alisson about to cry with a blank sheet of paper,” Klopp told Premier League Productions.
“It’s rare for us this season. It’s very nice, especially for him.
Fulham had their equalising moments at half-time, with Carlo Vinicius brilliantly denying the late through Alisson, but Klopp was generally inspired by his players’ performance against Marco Silva’s side.
“Super strong opponent, I can no longer respect what Marco is doing there,” Klopp said.
“I saw great fights, a very intelligent spirit and the guys who came here rose to the challenges. Of course, we can improve the game in those moments, but we can improve. We’ve played a lot worse in the past. “
Klopp was hesitant to talk about Liverpool’s 4 most sensible hopes after recent victories, saying there’s no point in talking about anything out of their control, and after that win, captain Jordan Henderson admitted Manchester United or Newcastle are unlikely to be caught.
However, Klopp still believes the form forged at the end of the season can work out for his team.
“That’s what I said, we have to review to do anything we can use,” the Liverpool manager said.
Something we can build on next season. That is precisely what I have done and I am delighted. “
