Justin Fields of Ohio launches a petition to restore the big ten football season

One of Big Ten’s top footballers asks the convention to oppose his resolve to postpone the season.

Ohio State quarterback Justin Fields, a possible contender for the heisman Trophy this season, created a petition to restore the fall football season, which OSU sports director Gene Smith announced last week that it would be canceled due to the coronavirus outbreak.

In the petition, Fields says he speaks on behalf of “the ten great football players, with school football enthusiasts and enthusiasts” asking players and groups to make their own possible options to play or retire.

“We have to play,” the petition says. “We believe that protection protocols have been established and can be maintained to alleviate exposure disorders in Covid 19.” Finish with the hashtag: #LetUsPlay!

Fields tweeted on Sunday that it was “close to my heart,” as he suggested other people sign. At 2 p.m. ET, had already reached its original purpose of 75,000 signatures.

At the same time, parents of several Iowa football players continue their fight for fall football. And Clemson’s quarterback Trevor Lawrence beat President Donald Trump in his efforts to save the season.

The Big Ten and Pac-12 are the only two Power Five meetings that announce they will play football this fall. Meanwhile, CCA, SEC and Big 12 continue to move forward with the goal of starting their season next month.
