Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri fined $11,000 for disrespecting referee in his locker room

TURIN, Italy (AP) — Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri was fined 10,000 euros ($11,000) Tuesday for disrespecting the referee and his assistants in the locker room after the Italian league match in Genoa.

Allegri fined through the Italian sports judge.

Allegri, 56, was angered by the refereeing decisions in Juventus’ 1-1 draw at Genoa on Friday and went to the referees’ dressing room to protest “first in a calm tone” and then “disrespectfully,” according to the judge’s statement.

He added that the incident ended when the referee asked Allegri to leave.

Juventus are second in Serie A, four points behind Inter Milan.
