ROMA (AP) – Juventus coach Andrea Pirlo approved his qualification as a coach through the Italian football federation on Wednesday.
Pirlo finished his final exams and received his UEFA Pro training badge on Monday.
Qualification, after a one-year training, is required for a coach to lead a Serie A or B team.
Pirlo, 41, won his first training task last month when he made him the starter of the Juventus under-23 team, which plays in Serie C, but did not lead a match before moving up to update the fired Maurizio Sarri.
Spezia trainer Vincenzo Italiano, Luca Toni and Thiago Motta also received their badges this week.
All coaches had started the course in September 2019 and had to attend 240 hours of classes, adding online versions that had fixed the blockade due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Then they had to take an exam and present their thesis.
The federation revealed that the scholars were Motta, who earned a score of 108 out of 110, and Pirlo, who received a score of 107.
