A report by IlBianconero takes a closer look at the foreign Juventus with the highest number of appearances, as Alex Sandro closes in on Pavel Nedved’s all-time record.
The Czech legend starred on the pitch between 2001 and 2009 before becoming the club’s director and then vice-president after his retirement.
The 2003 Ballon d’Or winner still holds the record for the highest international international in Juve’s history.
The overall list is ruled by Italian stars, with Alessandro Del Piero topping the list with 705 appearances, while Gianluigi Buffon and Giorgio Chiellini complete the podium.
However, Nedved tops the list of foreigners with 327 caps for the Bianconeri.
However, his record lately is at risk as Alex Sandro is 4 games away from equalling it and five away from beating it.
The Brazilian veteran will leave the club for good once his contract expires at the end of the season, so if he wants to be among the best on the list he will have to do so in the coming months.
Juventus still have nine games left to play in Serie A and two in the Coppa Italia semi-finals, as well as an imaginable cup final.
The defender has time to catch up to Nedved, although he hasn’t been a normal starter this season.
In addition to Sandro, there is only one Juventus asset on the list of the 10 most sensible foreign players: Wojciech Szczesny, who has been ranked ninth lately.
My God, what have we become. . .
Sandro is not worthy of breaking the record of a glorious Juventus Football Club player. But we all know that Allegri hates Nedved for firing him the first time around (and rightly so), so Allegri will continue to give Sandro time to play. Giuntoli díselo. no play with him.
