Chelsea allegedly intensified her quest for Kai Havertz after securing Champions League football.
The Bleus lead the race for the young Bayer Leverkusen, who is one of the most sought after in world football, and Bild said the talks are “getting hot.”
Chances are that getting a more sensible 4 will give Frank Lampard a great chance to win the war for Havertz, as he seeks to raise a big call along Timo Werner and Hakim Ziyech at Stamford Bridge.
Havertz has become known for his creativity with goals and aids, as well as for his flexibility to influence a number of other positions.
And with brands about where you can have Lampard support, you’ve already highlighted what you think is your most effective role.
Asked about his ideal position in an interview with Marca in November, Havertz replied: “I would say the no. 8 position, internal to the right. I’m not a classic No. 10, but I like to have the ball on my feet, just with a laugh on the field.
“I’ve played in a lot of other positions, but I prefer to play in the middle, where I have more ball. My dream will be to wear the number 10 one day at my club.
“There are many players who have encouraged me like Kaka, Zidane, RonaldinhoArray … They’ve been my idols. Among Spanish players, my favorite is Andrés Iniesta. It’s remarkable with the ball. Only. I like it better.
“Toni Kroos is a wonderful player, I look at him a lot. Your career has been wonderful. I have a lot of respect for him. Your passing ability and combined play are on the same level.
“In education [in Germany], each and every one of your passes is perfect. It doesn’t matter how they give them.”
Havertz also highlighted how his role evolved at Bayer Leverkusen when he was its leading game creator in recent years.
He added: “I’m at a point where I don’t care if I give an assist, score a goal or make a key pass.
“Right now, I have a role in Bayer that I have to check to make the ultimate pass, just to be a goalscorer. But I would say that I am a harmful Player Array … and I like to score goals.”
