Chelsea’s new recruit, Kai Havertz, thanked Fikayo Tomori after allowing him to take the club’s 29th shirt.
Havertz has worn no. 29 in each and every season of his senior career since his breakthrough at Bayer Leverkusen in the 2016–17 campaign.
Tomori had won No. 29 when he was promoted to the first team last year, but has now risen to No. 14.
