LAWRENCE, Kansas. – Pooka Williams decided not to participate in the rest of the 2020 school football season, a resolution that will likely end the electrifying career of the junior offensive midfielder in Kansas.
Williams, a selection of the top 12 preseasons, announced his resolve to retire from the show Monday night on a chart posted on Twitter. Probably decided on the NFL draft at the end of his school career, Williams is eligible to take that direction from the start. Next spring.
Williams wrote that the considerations of the family circle were his resolve to leave the team.
“(Monday) I made the difficult resolve to retire from the rest of the season to be closer to my mother and my circle of relatives in Louisiana,” Williams wrote. “Family and fitness are the most important things to me. I have to be with my mom, who suffers from fitness problems.
“I need to thank Coach (Les) Miles and everyone involved in the Kansas football program for their commitment and understanding. In the leadership of Kansas football and what Coach Miles is building.

The 5-foot-10-inch, 170-pounder from New Orleans added a title to the table: “Family First. “I’m going to miss all my boys and coaches (. ) (I) t’s Rock Chalk, ” he wrote. .
“I’m proud of him for making this great sacrifice to his circle of relatives and doing what he thinks is right,” Miles said in a statement.
“We will be there for Pooka and his circle of relatives in each and every way imaginable in the future. “
