LONDON: Jurgen Klopp says he could simply turn his back on football once his current contract with Premier League champion Liverpool expires in 2024.
The 53-year-old German had wanted to take a year off after leaving Borussia Dortmund in 2015, but Liverpool called him in October to ask him to upgrade To Brendan Rodgers.
Since then, he has guided them to the Champions League trophy in 2019 and this has ended with a wait of 30 for the league title.
However, he told german Sportbuzzer that taking a year in 2024 would give him time to think about what he wanted to do next.
“I’m going to take a year off and if I miss football, ” said Klopp.
“If the answer is no, it will be enough for Jurgen Klopp as coach. “
Klopp, who broke Bayern Munich’s control over the German name by winning it with Dortmund two years in a row (2010/11, 2011/12), is also the least lacking in the high-pressure business of football management.
