Kobbie Mainoo’s woes continue in latest bland performance versus Wolverhampton Wanderers

The difficulties of Manchester United midfielder, Kobbie Mainoo, continued in a mediocre 0-2 defeating Wolverhampton Wanderers on Thursday.

The 19-year-old was one of the few bright spots from a dismal previous season and announced himself to the football world with numerous top notch performances.

Mainoo put his name up in lights last season when he scored a sensational solo goal to give his side a 4-3 win late on in February at Molineux. At the same venue yesterday, things could not have gone more differently.

United has gone to his fourth defeat in the first league in five games and seems to be easy to leave the crisis with Newcastle and Liverpool in the next two games in the team league.

Mainoo started alongside Manuel Ugarte in the centre of the park but put in a poor performance as he lived on the periphery of the game for the 63 minutes he was on the pitch.

He had 37 touches of the ball and finished 20 assists in 29.

The 19-year-old also failed to succeed on purpose and failed in his dribbling attempt.

Mainoo no more effective defensively, as he won only two of his seven floor duels and lost his only aerial battle.

He turned the ball over 11 times when he missed once he returned to seal his authority over the game.

Mainoo remains obviously a very sensible qualifiability and will form again, but it does not communicate with the fact that it has not yet located its position in the Ruben Amorim system.

Whilst Manuel Ugarte looks very much at home in the Portuguese’s system, Mainoo is somewhat caught in no-man’s land as fans can’t work out what type of midfielder he is supposed to be.

The season at the moment happened to be a learning curve and would never have a good time as its exceptional leading campaign.

However, its poor form and its obvious lack of style for the taste of Amorim football become a greater fear for enthusiasts with each passenger game.

Alex is a great admirer of Manchester United, encouraged through the greats of his like George Best, Harry Gregg and Norman Whiteside. Proud owner of those niche shirts such as Kleberson, Eric Djembo-Djemba and Gary Neville. He grew up, pretending to be Ruud Van Nistelrooy and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in the rear garden, with little success.

2021. Very reserved through the user of the people.
