Barcelona is reportedly in talks with the Dutch Football Federation (KNVB) to name Ronald Koeman as their new head coach.
Quique Setien took office on Monday night after an assembly between barcelona’s board of directors at Camp Nou.
Koeman is lately the dutch coach, but already has a special clause in his contract that would allow him to take over Barcelona.
This clause would possibly have been activated after Euro 2020, but the postponement of this tournament and the uncertainty surrounding foreign football make it possible for him to take over Camp Nou now.
On Sunday, Koeman spotted him at Barcelona airport, where he returned from home to Holland after having already had conversations with Barcelona.
The former Blaugrana defense will most likely return to his home country to discuss his departure from the KNVB.
According to the Dutch press, Koeman told KNVB that he wanted to sign for Barcelona.
Voetbal reports imply that representatives of Barcelona are in the country to meet with the KNVB.
Voetbal added that former Hoffenheim technician Alfred Schreuder will move to Camp Nou as Koeman’s assistant.
