Kylian Mbappe faces Real Madrid after revealing his Olympic ambitions.
The Frenchman remains linked with a first move to the Spanish club this summer. His contract with current employer Paris Saint-Germain expires in a few months.
Real Madrid could then come after him on a flexible transfer, and it has already been revealed that they are willing to spend a lot of money to dedicate him to a contract. But he may simply disappoint his new employers by participating in the Olympics, which will be held in Paris this summer.
Confirming his ambitions to participate in the Games, Mbappe said: “I have had the same ambition. I’ve said I need to go [to the Olympics] but it’s not up to me.
“I can’t say anything because no one has told me anything. If I can’t participate in the Olympics, so be it. . . When I say that nobody said anything to me, I’m talking about PSG. “He has a contract with PSG and they haven’t said anything [about the Olympics]. We haven’t discussed it,” he added.
While Mbappe has expressed his goal of representing France at the Olympics, it is possible that Real Madrid will have a say. According to ESPN, the Spanish national team sent an email to the French Football Federation confirming that it is not releasing its players for the Games.
As things stand, that would come with midfielders Aurélien Tchouameni and Eduardo Camavinga, while Mbappé would sign up for that organization once he becomes a Real Madrid player. The Olympics are usually an under-23 tournament, but organizations are allowed to have three main players.

The Olympic football tournament is scheduled to take place from July 24 to August 9. It is yet to be seen whether it will overlap with the 2024/25 La Liga season, the schedule for which has yet to be published.
But it will all work out fine, as this season started on August 9. Beyond his Olympic ambitions, Mbappe also asked about his future but refused to confirm whether he is about to become a Real Madrid player.
“I haven’t announced anything yet because I don’t have anything to announce. . . I’m sorry, I don’t have anything to say to you,” he said, before adding: “I think everything will be sorted out before the end of the season. “
On the other hand, PSG coach Luis Enrique has remained tight-lipped about a possible departure of Mbappe. He said: “Mbappe to Real Madrid? I don’t know, nobody knows. Only Kylian knows. When all parties involved decide on a percentage of the event and their decisions, we will be there to listen to them. “
