Sevilla posted a St. Patrick’s Day message that reveals an unexpected connection to Ireland.
While the La Liga club shared his image on social media, it also included a photo of their first foreign coach, Charles O’Hagan of Donegal.

The Sevillian media showed their Irish and wrote: “Lá Fhéile Pádraig shona do lucht tacaíochta Sevilla Éireannaigh ar fud an domhain!”
This, of course, translated into English as: “Happy St. Patrick’s Day to the Irish enthusiasts of Seville around the world!”
They added, “Enjoy!”
Irish fans sent theirs to the Spanish national team and some even declared a new love for him.
One wrote: “Me now Seville. “
Another commented: “Beautiful Sevilla! It’s a wonderful team to manage in FM22, of course!”
A third added: “Thank you Sevilla FC. Go n-éirí an bóthar linn”.
St. Patrick’s Day was not a day of satisfaction for Sevilla, who lost 2-1 at home to Celta Vigo.
Youssef En-Nesyri gave the hosts the lead early on, but they couldn’t hold on to the merit against their relegation rivals.
Sevilla remain in 16th place in the standings, while the visitors are in 17th place and are just one point behind.
Sevilla are currently six distances away from the relegation zone, with Cadiz being their biggest risk of falling.
The two groups will face each other on May 15 to decide who will maintain their status and who will be relegated to the second division of Spanish football.
Granada and Almeria seem almost certain to retire, but the latter nevertheless managed to get his first win of the season on Sunday.
It was also a rare blank slate as they walked away from Las Palmas with a 1-0 win.
