Roma has shown the signing of Spanish winger Pedro on the loose from Chelsea.

The 33-year-old has signed a three-year contract with the Giallorossi after spending the final seasons at Stamford Bridge.

“I’m happy to be here in Rome,” Pedro said on the Official Website of the Serie A club. “I am very happy with this new challenge and to be able to compete for our goals in the coming seasons. I thank the enthusiasts for the welcome I received. I hope to make you satisfied.”

Goal reported in June that Peter came close to reaching an agreement with Rome after rejecting the approaches of Real Betis, Vissel Kobe and Inter Miami.

In his last appearance for Chelsea, Pedro dislocated his shoulder in the extra time of the final FA Cup defeat to Arsenal. The injury required surgery, of which Peter said good luck in an Instagram post.

Pedro moved to Italy after a great fortune in his career with Les Bleus, as well as to Barcelona and Spain.

The winger spent seasons with the Blaugrana, winning five La Liga and three in the Champions League.

He also collected cutlery at the level, having been a member of the Spanish national team that won the 2010 World Cup and the winners of Euro 2012 in La Roja.

In Chelsea, Pedro won the Premier League in 2016-17, as did the FA Cup and Europa League. In total, he has 23 trophies in his career.

“It is a privilege for us to be able to welcome a footballer of Peter’s intensity into the Giallorossi family,” said Rome CEO Guido Fienga. “The hope we have for him and for us is that he can make his usual record of good fortune with AS Rome greater.”

Pedro posted a farewell message to Chelsea on Instagram earlier this month, saying, “It has been an emotion and an honor to play for this club and win the Premier League, FA Cup and Europa League, as well as compete in one of the world championships, the football leagues.

“I made the right decision, I bring glorious and unforgettable memories. Surely new demanding situations and triumphs will come.”
