BRIGHTON, England (AP) – Alexandre Lacazette arrived from the bench and scored with his first in Arsenal’s 1-0 win at Brighton on Tuesday to relieve coach Mikel Arteta with a back-to-back win for a moment.
Lacazette had just arrived when Bukayo Saka turned from inside his part and made a very good run down the right before returning the ball to him, Lacazette took a touch to the ball just inside the penalty domain before launching an internal shot to the post law. at minute 66.
Arsenal returned to the thirteenth position and Arteta, relieved, hugged his attendees with the final beep.
You can thank Lacazette.
It is his consecutive purpose at the time after scoring a penalty in Saturday’s 3–1 win over Chelsea, where the defeat would possibly have won Arteta his place.
But he would possibly have been strangely replaced as a lone striker through Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who lacked the form that made him possibly the league’s ultimate damaging striker last season.
Aubameyang has scored 57 Premier League goals since joining Arsenal three years ago.
He has reached No. 58 when, with his first chance in the 50th minute, he encountered the center of Saka’s left wing but directed his shot from the diversity directly close to goalkeeper Robert Sanchez.
Moments later, Arsenal Brazilian striker Gabriel Martinelli, 19, fired over the crossbar just inside the penalty area, then Aubameyang waved a counterattack when he attempted a difficult curly shot to opt for midfielder Emile Smith Rowe in a larger position.
Saka was delayed after being hit in the ankle, but the injury did not appear to be serious and he sat in the stands to watch the rest of the match.
Brighton had the best of a mediocre first half, with Alireza Jahanbakhsh having a stored shot and firing deflected with opportunity, any of the attempts after a center of Brazilian Bernardo.
Arsenal will play West Bromwich Albion on 2 January, while Brighton, ranked 17th, will receive Wolves that day.
West Brom lost 5-0 at home to Leeds on Tuesday.
