Lakers’ LeBron James overtakes Derek Fisher for maximum NBA playoff wins

With the Los Angeles Lakers notching a Game 3 win over the Houston Rockets on Tuesday, LeBron James is now the all-time leader in playoff wins in NBA history.

At the time James’s circular win is the 162nd of his playoff career, beating Derek Fisher for the first time in all time.

LeBron had also beaten Tim Duncan in the first of the playoffs after the San Antonio Spurs legend had 157 in his career.

Fisher has had a less publicized career than those stars, yet he won five titles with the Lakers, and also spent time with the Golden State Warriors, Oklahoma City Thunder, Utah Jazz and Dallas Mavericks in his 18 years in the NBA.

James controlled to pass that mark in his 17th season while pursuing a successful playoff run.

The 35-year-old made the playoffs every year from 2006-18 until last year’s injury-filled crusade snapped that streak. He had also reached the NBA Finals in 8 consecutive seasons with the Cleveland Cavaliers and Miami Heat.

That consistency helped him set the record for the most all-time playoff problems, while also reaching third place in assists and sixth in rebounding.

Although his groups have only won 3 NBA titles, LeBron has enjoyed unprecedented good fortune in his playoff career.

James will be looking to raise the championship to his resume this year with the Lakers, lately up 2-1 in the Western Conference semifinals.
