Minnesota Timberwolves basketball operations president Gersson Rosas and head coach Ryan Saunders met Tuesday with LaMelo Ball, one of the most sensitive clients in the 2020 NBA draft.
Jonathan Givony of ESPN reported Thursday that the game with the Wolves, which have the first overall pick, is one of many for Ball before the November 18 draft. He is expected to meet with the Golden State Warriors (selection number 2), Charlotte Hornets. (No. 3) and Chicago Bulls (No. 4).
His game with Minnesota didn’t come with any basketball activity on the field, according to Givony. The pre-draft procedure was modified due to the coronavirus pandemic, and the mix was moved to a mainly virtual format that allows players to stay close to home.
Ball had in the past told Jalen Rose and David Jacoby of ESPN that he had already spoken to the Warriors and the New York Knicks (No. 8) in mid-October:

Georgia shooter Anthony Edwards is the Wolves’ top popular selection in mock drafts, but this time there’s no number one blocked selection like Zion Williamson last year.
Ball is part of a small organization that seeks to surpass Edwards as the first selection in recent weeks and also includes Deni Avdija and James Wiseman.
Minnesota has the chance of a quick change if it turns the right selection into a base that already includes Karl-Anthony Towns and D’Angelo Russell.
Meanwhile, Ball is a virtual lock to land on the five most sensitive, even when it comes to wolf selection.
The 19-year-old playmaker has taken a course for the NBA with stops with BC Prienai in Lithuania and the Illawarra Hawks in Australia for the past two years. He has averaged 17 points, 7. 6 rebounds, 6. 8 assists and 1. 6 steals in 12 games for the Hawks.
It has an intriguing mix of play skill and height (6’7″, 181 pounds) that deserve to allow you to make an instant have an effect in the NBA.
Like his brother, the Lonzo Ball of the New Orleans Pelicans, however, he will have to paint to become a more effective scorer in order to maximize his potential. He drew only 37. 5% of the land, 25% through three, his tenure in Australia.
