Lampard hopes to motivate Chelsea to ‘do special’ against Bayern Munich

Chelsea are expected to face Bayern Munich later in the last two Champions League matches.

Find out how to see the here.

They faced off for the first time at Stamford Bridge in February, with Bayern at the top.

The German force overcame Chelsea and won 3-0.

Serge Gnabry’s three-minute double followed by a Robert Lewandowski goal in the 76th minute.

This result, of course, puts the Blues at a disadvantage in the run-up to Saturday’s return.

Chelsea will also be six first-team players for tonight’s clash.

While Chelsea’s champions league quarter-final win is now incredibly unlikely, not all hopes are lost.

No doubt Londoners will be inspired by Liverpool’s semi-final for Barcelona last season, in which the Reds overturned a three-goal deficit to succeed in the top competition.

Frank Lampard, on the other hand, is a guy who doesn’t seem to have lost any hope of causing a great deal of turmoil.

Speaking on Chelsea’s official website, the English tactician tried what his team wants to do to have a chance of winning against Bayern, while saying he will seek to motivate his players to do “something special”:

“Historical setbacks in football don’t matter. It’s about what the players are doing that day. I will be very positive with them and motivate them to do something special, but we have to paint first and technically the game the right direction.

“All cannons burn or stay on course, it’s not exactly the conversation. We have to adapt our game to the game as a whole. We’ll have to respect his ability to the ball and protect very well. We didn’t protect well enough at Stamford Bridge, so we conceded 3 goals in a short time.

“We have to accept as true that if we move the ball well and play with confidence, we can cause disorder to the maximum teams. We’ll have to have our best game to compete and check to change course.”
