Lazio have officially confirmed that goalkeeper Ivan Provedel has signed a new contract with the Club until the summer of 2027.
The 29-year-old left Spezia for the Stadio Olimpico in the summer of 2022 and was inspired by his performances with the Biancocelesti.
In his first season, the 2022-23 campaign, Provedel kept more blank sheets than any other goalkeeper in Serie A, helping Lazio to the end of the league. He named the goalkeeper Serie A’s MVP at the end of that campaign.
Provedel also made foreign headlines at the start of the 2023-24 season when he equalized in the 95th minute with a corner kick for Lazio against Atletico Madrid in their Champions League opener in September.
Provedel had already signed a long-term contract with Lazio at the time of his departure from Lazio, which was also due to last until 2027. Instead, the new contract includes a salary adjustment and other conditions.
According to reports from the start of the 2023-24 season, Provedel was earning around €1. 2 million per season, which would likely have increased with his new contract.
