Don’t miss the Premier League white promotion: sign up for loose email updates
Here are Leeds United’s morning headlines for Thursday, August 27.
Noel Whelan said he’s excited about the possibility of Leeds ingting Divock Origi from Liverpool this summer.
The whites appear in a position to complete the acquisition of Rodrigo Moreno from Valencia in the coming days, but Marcelo Bielsa still needs his line of attack.
And Whelan believes That Origi, whose teammate Rhian Brewster has also been linked to a loan transfer to Elland Road, would be an addition.
“Or they’re very players in their own right,” Whelan said of Origi and Brewster in an interview with Football Insider.
“You have a promising one that has been ceded and that has done very well.
“But you have to see it now, you’re in the Premier League, and as far as Rhian Brewster has done very well in Swansea, it’s league football.
“For me, I’d like to see a more established, more experienced player who knows the Premier League and is Divock Origi.”
The Premier League has dropped a primary court suggesting that Leeds has finished signing Rodrigo.
Leeds is the latest in the Valencian striker’s acquisition for a record payment as they continue to prepare for the new Premier League season.
No announcements have yet been made, however, there are symptoms that Leeds would possibly have already finished the transfer.
Eagle eye enthusiasts have discovered that Rodrigo is indexed as a Leeds player on the official Fantasy Premier League website.
Players in the game can raise the 29-year-old to their groups for the 2020/21 campaign, suggesting that the deal is possibly already done.
Leeds is going to win a race very closely at the signing of Mykola Matviyenko, he reports.
