The Swiss finisher suffered an ACL injury in the win over Derby County at the end of last season before his contract expired, but has now hinted that he can still return to Leeds.
RSI quotes the 32-year-old saying, via Leeds Live: “I walk a lot, but it’s fine, even if it’s going to be a long recovery. At the end of September, I returned to England to describe everything and stay back at Leeds.

Leeds cheers up in search of De Paul
Udinese midfielder Rodrigo De Paul, a movement target for Leeds, has rejected a move to Zenit St Petersburg, according to Tuttomercatoweb Leeds Live.
The 26-year-old has been linked to a move to Elland Road this summer and is said to be in high demand, and Udinese will most likely sell it for more than 25 million pounds if a proper offer comes up.
The Argentine has been in Serie A for 4 years, but Leeds enthusiasts expect him to be willing to move to Yorkshire.
Phillips advises Leeds to shine
Former Sunderland and West Bromwich Albion striker Kevin Phillips believes playman Kalvin Phillips will “glow” in the Premier League this season.
The central midfielder crowned England last week and is expected to be a key figure in Marcelo Bielsa’s squad this campaign.
“Kalvin Phillips made his foreign debut before making his Premier League debut, which doesn’t happen very often,” Phillips told Football Insider.
