REUTERS: Leicester City hired Turkish winger Cengiz Under from Italian AS Roma on a one-season loan, the Premier League announced sunday.
The main financial points of the agreement were disclosed, but the British media reported that Leicester had accepted an initial loan payment worth 3 million euros with a 23-year-old purchase option in Rome at the end of the season.
Under has scored 17 goals and 12 assists in 88 matches in all competitions with Roma after arriving from Istanbul Basaksehir in 2017.
“I can’t wait to move to Leicester and start training. At all times I have sought to play in England and this is a wonderful opportunity to play in the Premier League,” Under said on the club’s website.
“I’ll go out to help my teammates in and out of the box and I can improve my functionality every day. I think I’m fast and I can create a lot of opportunities for my colleagues. “
Selected 21 times across Turkey, Under made his overseas debut in 2016 and signed with teammate Caglar Soyuncu in Leicester.
“I am very pleased to be able to play with Caglar and I have watched Leicester matches thanks to him,” Under added.
