Leicester City’s Iheanacho to miss Slavia Prague match due to ban

Leicester City will be Kelechi Iheanacho in the UEFA Europa League round of 16 match against Slavia Prague after the Super Eagles striker got a yellow card at the festival on Thursday.

Just after replacing Jamie Vardy in the blank draw in Prague, Iheanacho earned a yellow card in the 64th minute, which has accumulated 3 yellow cards in this crusade and will serve a one-match suspension.

The Super Eagles striker has been so impressive in the Europa League with 3 goals in his call-up after seven games, and his absence may just be a fear for the Foxes looking for a win over Slavia Prague at the King Power Stadium next Thursday.

Nigerian midfielder Wilfred Ndidi’s dynamo also earned a yellow card in the match, but Brendan Rodgers lamented the yellow cards given to the Super Eagles duo and summed up refereeing as “really poor”.

“I think the officials were mediocre, I have to say,” Rodgers said via Leicestershire Live.

“I don’t comment much on them because I know it’s a very complicated job. But some of the decisions. . . I think we reserved Wilf [Ndidi] and Kelechi [Iheanacho] for the use of the elbow and it’s transparent that it wasn’t the case. They were difficult with the ball, especially Wilf.

“And then there were some decisions, namely about Cengo [Under] towards the end, where obviously we suffered a foul and didn’t perceive it. I didn’t think it was a very smart night for them, to be honest.

Ndidi and Iheanacho are expected to play a role when Leicester City face Aston Villa for their next Premier League match on Sunday.

The Foxes are third in the table, tied with problems with Manchester United, moment after 24 outings.
