Leroy Sané of Bayern absent from knee injury

MUNICH (AP) – Bayern Munich striker Leroy Sané will miss about two weeks due to a new knee injury that was injured at Manchester City last season, coach Hansi Flick said Tuesday.

Flick said Sané would not be available until at least the end of the next foreign rupture due to the broken capsule in his right knee joint. “We hope that after the foreign truce, he will come back with us,” Flick said.

Sané injured an anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee last season while playing for Manchester City, which caused him to miss the 2019–20 campaign maximum.

Sané will not participate in Wednesday’s Super Cup match against Dortmund and Sunday’s Bundesliga match against Hertha Berlin, and probably also in the German League of Nations matches against Ukraine and Switzerland, and a friendly match scheduled for Germany against Turkey on 7 October.

Bayern’s first match after half-time, a German Cup adjustment postponed on 15 October against fifth-placed Duren.

Sané has all three of Bayern’s matches since he signed City, scoring for his debut against former club Schalke, and also two matches for Germany against Spain and Switzerland this month. Sané last played for 73 minutes on Sunday in Bayern’s 4–1 loss to Hoffenheim. that ended an undefeated 32-game streak.

Flick said David Alaba also doubts an injury before Dortmund’s match with an uns specified muscle problem.

Bayern struggled with a tight schedule, with no help during last week’s UEFA Super Cup against Sevilla, in which Bayern played 120 minutes to win 2-1. Flick said Tuesday that the club contemplates more signings for more intensity before the play window closes on Monday. .
