Arsenal’s teenage striker, Alfie Matthews, announced his departure from the club after being tried by Crystal Palace this summer.
Matthews must have played in at least two of Crystal Palace’s underseason preseason friendly.
And after previously confirming the end of his 11-year deal with Arsenal on Instagram, the 18-year-old said through his story that he “looks forward to pronouncing my new club.”
It remains to be noted if this club is Crystal Palace.
Matthews also connected with a move to Newcastle United earlier this year.
But a move through London may please the flexible young man of former Arsenal, downplaying any disruption.
Matthews is one of many players who have joined Crystal Palace’s youth groups this preseason, after the Eagles academy awarded him Category 1 prestige before the new campaign.
But a palace teenager who is about to leave Selhurst Park is Brandon Aveiro.
West Ham United led several clubs, Everton, in the race to point to the Portuguese offensive midfielder, according to Teamtalk.
He says Aveiro still has a year left on his contract with Crystal Palace, but adds that the Eagles have already informed him that he can leave and will not block a move.
Everton and Sporting have reportedly had conversations, however, the 18-year-old will work out with West Ham before an agreement.
