Tottenham managed to beat Barcelona thanks to the signing of highly valued Swedish teenager Lucas Bergvall, according to PA.
Bergvall had been set to sign for Barca after enjoying a breakthrough season with Djurgardens in the Allsvenska, but Spurs have convinced the 17-year-old to commit his long-term future to the Premier League outfit after he visited the club on Monday.
Midfielder Bergvall will undergo a medical in London on Friday before finalising his permanent switch, which will see him link up with Tottenham this summer.

Chelsea midfielder Andrey Santos has arrived on loan at Strasbourg until the end of the season.

Bayern Munich have reached a short-term loan deal to bring Granada striker Bryan Zaragoza to the Bundesliga sooner than expected.
The German champions announced in December that the 22-year-old would sign a five-year contract with them starting in the summer of 2024.
However, injuries to key players led Bayern to enter the transfer market and they got Zaragoza on loan until the end of the season.

Brentford head coach Thomas Frank says there is no chance of Ivan Toney leaving the club on a deadline day.
England striker Toney was linked with Premier League rivals Arsenal and Chelsea in the January window.
The 27-year-old has scored 34 goals in 68 top-flight games for the Bees and Frank insists Toney will stay put after a month of speculation.
“It will be breaking news, but Ivan will stay,” Frank said in his press conference ahead of Monday’s clash with Manchester City.

Bryan Gil can also leave Spurs before the 23:00 deadline, with Brighton and Feyenoord willing to loan out the Spain international, who is satisfied at the club despite limited opportunities and possibly wants to convince.
