NFL Weekend

Mid Hudson football enthusiasts have a special position in their hearts for Charles Davis, the former New Paltz football star who did it big at the University of Tennessee and then in the broadcasting industry. Davis and Ian Eagle have the call for 1 p. m. Sunday. The game Giants at Bears on WCBS-2 (yes, the game is on CBS and not on Fox, which offers NFC games).

The game on WCBS-2 has the Chiefs visiting the Chargers, with Jim Nantz and Tony Romo on the call.

It is one of the Sundays where the Giants and Jets play at the same time, sorry for the enthusiasts who wear blue and green. The Niners stop at the Jets at 1 p. m. at WNYW-5, with Brandon Gaudin and former Jet Jonathan Vilma on duty. If you’re crossing the Pennsylvania border, you can see the Rams at Eagles with Kevin Kugler and Chris Spielman. Swipe to Connecticut and get the Panthers in Buccaneers (Oh, yes, new Englanders may still have a comfortable place for Tom Brady), with Adam Amin and Mark Schlereth on the call.

Sunday night’s football game at WNBC-4 has the Patriots led by Cam Newton the Seahawks at 8:20 p. m. Monday night’s football game has the Saints at the new Las Vegas Stadium for the Raiders at 8:20 p. m. ESPN, WABC-7 and a star-filled MegaCast on ESPN2. Steve Levy, Brian Griese and Louis Riddick have the FMN call.

WFAN Radio (660-AM, 101. 9-FM) will broadcast the Chiefs game on the Chargers no later than Sunday afternoon, joined in progress after the giants’ post-game show. WFAN will stay with the Patriots at Seahawks last Sunday. On Monday, the Saints-Raiders game will air after the Yankees-Blue Jays game at 6:30 a. m.

For the future: WFAN hosts Thursday night’s football game between the Dolphins and Jaguars after the Yankees-Blue Jays. On Sunday, September 27, the Marlins-Yankees are broadcast on WFAN (101. 9-FM) at 3 p. m. , while the Giants host the Nine at 1 pm WFAN (660-AM). Sunday night’s Packers-Saints game is broadcast on AM and FM, as is Monday 28 September’s game between the Chiefs and Ravens.

Introduction to playoffs

TBS is rumored to be broadcasting a first-round major league baseball series, and ESPN has everything else (seven series over three games). A new twist is MLB’s return to ABC tv for afternoon contests. has not aired on MLB since baseball network days.

Final Four Hoops

The NBA playoffs reached the convention semi-finals: TNT won the Western final between the Denver Nuggets and los Angeles Lakers, and ESPN won the East Final between the Toronto Raptors and the Boston Celtics.

ESPN Radio will have the radio call, with a maximum if all games are streamed on ESPN Radio New York (WEPN 98. 7-FM) and broadcast on the ESPN website.

ESPNU has two football games on Friday night in high school. On September 18 (today), there’s a game in Alabama between Thompson and Hewitt-Trussville at 8:30 p. m. On September 25, IMG Academy of Florida visits Ravenwood, Tennessee at nine o’clock at night

Two runs left

The 107th Tour de France has only two races. NBC Sports Network is level 20 on Saturday with a pre-race screen at 6:30 a. m. Sunday’s final stage begins with a pre-race screen at nine a. m. Live programming will also be available on Peacock’s streaming service and on the NBC Sports Gold subscription service.

Live reruns on NBCSN will take place Saturday at 1:30 a. m. Sunday and Sunday finals at 8 p. m. and midnight.

Football weekend

Along with the US Open and some other events, English Premier League football will be featured at Peacock, NBC’s new broadcast service. But last week, when so many EPL games were introduced in Peacock’s loose game, this week’s games are on the winning side.
